The Château de Pierre Levée
The replica of the Petit Trianon.
The Château de Pierre Levée owes its name to the two nearby menhirs, the two largest standing stones in Europe, discovered in the late 11th century.
The château was built by Luc Pezot, a tax collector and shipowner from Sabl, who drew inspiration from the architecture of Versailles’ Petit Trianon.
During the summer, sound and light shows reveal the beauty of the site.
200 actors in the château gardens bring to life the history of this fabulous region, from the origins of mankind to the construction of the château still known as the “Petit Trianon Vendéen”.
Les Sables d’Olonne Zoo

A green oasis by the sea, the Zoo des Sables d’Olonne invites you on a journey into the animal world.
Les Sables d’Olonne Zoo is home to a wide variety of animal species, surrounded by lush, flower-filled vegetation that is perfectly maintained.

Zoo des Sables is the forerunner of a new type of zoo, combining respect for the environment, protection of exotic and local biodiversity and eco-citizen awareness among visitors.
Located in the heart of the town of Les Sables d’Olonne, the Zoo is a 3-hectare island of greenery, anchored on the Vendée shore. Home to some 280 animals belonging to over 40 endangered species, the park attracts some 160,000 visitors every year, making it the second most popular tourist attraction in the Vendée.
