Strolling along the river
Discover the most beautiful beaches in Vendée
During your summer stay at the Bois de la Gachère campsite, you’ll be tempted to take a trip to the beach, or even several!
So let us recommend the best beaches in the area.
We could direct you to the Grande Plage in Les Sables d’Olonne, but that would be common.
Let’s take a look at some of the more original beaches…
Just a few steps from your accommodation or pitch
Les Granges beach in Les Sables d’Olonne is directly accessible from La Gachère campsite! Walk to the seafront for a moment of relaxation and pleasure in complete tranquillity.
Don’t hesitate to place your towel on it.
For surfing and water sports
Sauveterre and Tanchet beaches are great spots for surfing and other water sports in Les Sables d’Olonne. There are beautiful waves and fine sand, for a moment in osmosis with nature as the wind and sea blow.
For a quiet family moment
The bassin d’Ombret in Les Sables d’Olonne is often used by families. Regular customers visit regularly. This bathing spot is pleasant, but can be crowded, especially in July and August.
For a little more peace and quiet, it would be a good idea to drive a few kilometers out of the town of Les Sables d’Olonne, to try out the beautiful saltwater beaches of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, Brétignolles or Talmont-Saint-Hilaire. And don’t forget to keep an eye on the tides to find out whether the sea will be high or low.
For the wild, rocky side
Ideally known for its waterside walks and fishing, Paracou beach lends itself perfectly to a moment of relaxation. Swimming here is dangerous due to the slope and rocks, but it’s still very beautiful.
And if you wander further afield, you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic sea views on offer. You can put your feet in the water or enjoy a picnic overlooking the sea.
